About

Julian’s career in photography was launched when he started work at an MIT research lab as a technical photographer. During that time he took independent photography courses at MIT and at Boston University’s School of Communication.

Once he was more proficient with the technical skills of photography he applied for a staff position at the Boston Globe as a news photographer.

After two years in photojournalism, Julian wanted to move beyond applied photography and, thus, enrolled in the graduate photography program at the Rhode Island School of design where he received an MFA degree.

His experience at RISD solidified his commitment to creative photography which he also balanced with work in commercial photography. His commercial work was primarily focused on public relations and event photography for clients at several area colleges.

Since retirement from all commercial work, Julian has devoted himself to photography as a creative art form and has spent much of his free time traveling in search of inspiration and exciting subjects.
